These are dry times. Summer slips away faster than you can catch it – a dime down the drain. The sky hangs damp and icy today. Across the globe, powerful little men toy with the world’s future like it’s a game of chicken. Hurricanes have ravaged large parts of our earth. Families will suffer the effects for years to come. Terrorists won’t let London sleep.
This planet can get so ugly. So broken. So disordered. So many of our mirrors are shattered.
There is order in beauty. A divine order, I believe, but whatever your theology you can feel it. The affirmation of disparate parts falling into place.
Jennifer Berkenbosch’s Cultivar matters because the world needs beauty today. We need to be reminded that there is goodness. There is a solid bed beneath this wild river.

Tomorrow, Saturday April 1, you can have photos taken of your art for free. No foolin'.
Thanks to the generosity of the Edmonton Shutterbugs, four photographers will be on hand to shoot your work on a gallery wall or plinth, in fantastic natural light, for 15 minutes per artist. You can also have your portrait taken if you like.
All of these shots should help you spruce up your website, business cards and marketing materials, and hopefully land you some shows and some sales.

I just received the latest edition of Danny Schweers' Photo Prayer this week, and it may be the only email I've consistently read for what must be nearing a decade.
Photo Prayer is also one of the few projects I've seen tended to with such commitment and care for that length of time.

Saturday, December 6 was a historic Bleeding Heart day. We opened our new space at 9132 118th ave. Our first show, Blue Christmas, welcomed guests to take in blown glass by Keith Walker, landscapes by Dawn Saunders Dahl and participation by ... you.
