Kenton Jeske In Conversation (Audio Interview)

Kenton Jeske In Conversation (Audio Interview)

Kenton Jeske's Ceremony is open now at the Alberta Craft Council, with a reception this Saturday, April 22 at . I had a virtual 'sit down' with Kenton, in the midst of minding children and barking dogs, respectively. His hand-made furniture is beautiful and considered–the product of hundreds of hours of care.

Today's Artist: Enter The Worship Circle Wants to Tear the Veil

I've been blessed with some very good people in my life. Some I can even call friends. Karla Adolphe and Ben Pasley are two such people, and they've been working on a new project for the past several months as Enter The Worship Circle.

Jennifer Stewart Fueston Relays Visitations

Jennifer Stewart Fueston Relays Visitations

These summer days, when we might afford appointments with poetry, I encourage you to pick up Fueston's Visitations, which you can order from Finishing Line Press here. You may be lucky enough, like I have been, to sense the intimate embrace of God reaching through the text. You may, like me, want to breathe the words in and then exhale them slowly. You may, like me, find life here.

Alexis Marie Chute Creates Art from Everything (Including Jenga)

Alexis Marie Chute Creates Art from Everything (Including Jenga)

I've known Edmonton artist Alexis Marie-Chute for a long, long time. In fact, one of her art-school pieces was the first piece of art my wife and I bought. Like, with actual money.

Since then I've watched Chute tackle nearly every medium as her art has pulled her through some devastating times.

Andrew Myers Paints with Screws

Andrew Myers Paints with Screws

Andrew Myers is an American artist who creates 'paintings' with thousands of screws, inset at various depths, and then handprinted for the final effect.

Myers didn't develop this technique for the blind, but because of his unique portraiture, he was recently able to offer a blind man the first 'look' at a painting of himself. What this touching video of Myers creating this piece, and the subject experiencing it himself for the first time.

Bill Anhang Paints with Mystical Light

Bill Anhang Paints with Mystical Light

Bill's work could be called 'outsider art', but I've been thinking about that genre a lot lately, in light of our own wild and wonderful show, what Bernice sees. When so many people smile at this type of work, who is on the outside? Who draws those lines? Outside of what?
